| Ca'n Pujola is a 40 minute drive from the
airport and Palma, one of Spain's most attractive cities, full of vitality
and culture. It is also a 10 minute drive from St. Elm's fine sandy beach
and 15 minutes drive from Paguera's stunning beaches and aquamarine sea.
Ca'n Pujola is a few minutes drive from the stylish port of Andratx. Andratx's Cultural Centre displays some of the finest examples of contemporary sculpture and art. The village of S'Arraco is a short three minute walk away from Ca'n Pujola. It is an authentic Majorcan village which nestles in a bowl of pine covered mountains between the valleys of Sa Palomera and Andratx. S'Arraco was founded by Antoni Ferrandell Veri in the 17th century around the first Sant Crist chapel which he built. The highly revered Sant Crist is in the main altar. The statue of the Virgin Mary, another focus of devotion is in the side chapel on the right. It is known as Nostra Senyora de la Trapa, and it was brought from the Trappist Monastery in the nearby mountains. Within the village there are - three main bars (Can Nou, Can Prima and Can Viguet); three restaurants (La Tulipe, the Puput, and the S'Arraco which serves tapas, grills and menu del día at lunch time); a general store, bank with cash dispenser and a bus stop. The traditional annual fiesta is in August. At this time the quiet village becomes filled with music and celebration. Walkers will find many inspirational treks within easy reach of Ca'n Pujola. Side lanes off the main road in S'Arraco, Carrer de Francia mostly lead into pleasant mountain walks. As you leave the village, on the right towards Sant Elm, you pass the cemetery, a typical example of the Spanish system of burying their dead in groups of niches above the ground. There is a lane here that leads up via the Son Veri area to the mountain La Farinera. It is advisable to bring proper hiking or walking shoes/boots to walk these routes. Here are some activities which can be organised during your stay at the centre - either with or without guides.
